Today, depart Australia to begin your Canada & Alaska holiday!

On arrival after clearing customs and immigration formalities, a Webjet representative will be available to greet you and transport you to your hotel.

Day 2: Vancouver (B)

Today is a full day to either relax or explore Vancouver at your own pace!

Vancouver is located between the majestic snow-capped Coast Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, enjoys a mild climate year-round and is surrounded by some of the most stunning natural beauty in the world.

Day 3: Rocky Mountaineer – Vancouver – train-icon– Kamloops (B,L)

This morning, your private coach will transfer you to the Rocky Mountaineer station in Vancouver. Here, you’ll be welcomed by the legendary Rocky Mountaineer staff and board your train to begin your unforgettable rail journey through the Rocky Mountains. Breakfast is served on-board. 

On today’s journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser River valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade mountains, to the desert-like environment of the interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake and into Kamloops.

Tonight, you’ll overnight in the town of Kamloops. The Rocky Mountaineer team will transfer you to your overnight accommodation.

Day 4: Rocky Mountaineer – Kamloops – train-icon– Banff Area (B,L)

This morning, you’ll be collected from your hotel and transferred to the train to continue your second day on the Rocky Mountaineer. Enjoy breakfast on the train as you settle into your seat as the train rolls out of Kamloops.

Your journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will see a spectacular array of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Ca¬≠nadian Rockies. Today’s highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your rail journey ends in the resort town of Banff  where your Webjet private coach will collect you and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 5: Banff Area – Free day or optional Icefield excursion (B)

Today is a free day to relax and explore this incredible alpine region. Banff is only a short distance away from Canmore with regular shuttles operating every 30 minutes or why not journey out on one of Canmore’s famed walking trails ranging from short strolls to longer hikes through the Alpine scenery.

Otherwise, take a morning drive along the Icefields Parkway, one of the world’s most beautiful highways, passing some of Canada’s highest mountains and most magnificent glaciers. We’re headed for the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle.

Optional Activity (additional cost applies): Enjoy a ride on the Ice Explorer onto Athabasca Glacier – a once in a lifetime opportunity! This takes you onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier by Ice Explorer; a massive vehicle specially designed for glacial travel. An experienced driver-guide shares a wealth of fascinating information about glaciers, icefields and their impact on our environment during this one hour and 20 minute journey. Must be booked prior to your departure from Australia.

Return to the Banff area where the remainder of the evening is at leisure.

Day 6: Banff Area – Lake Louise – Yoho National Park – Glacier National Park – Mount Revelstoke National Park – Vernon (B)

Today we enjoy another fully day of spectacular scenery as we make our along the Trans-Canada Highway towards Vernon. We pass by Lake Louise, often referred to as the ‘Diamond in the Wilderness’, and it is easy to see why. Other highlights include Yoho National Park, Glacier National Park and Mount Revelstoke National Park. There will be many stops along the way including Emerald Lake, Natural Bridge, Spiral Train Tunnels and Rogers Pass. On arrival in Vernon, enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 7: Vernon – Okanagan Region – Princeton (B)

After breakfast, we set off to enjoy a full day of sightseeing in the heart of the Okanagan Region. This region is the main fruit and wine producing area as can be seen by the many fruit stands that dot the highway. Optional stop at local wineries for a special tasting of the local vintages. There are many wineries to choose from including Summerhill Estate Winery, a certified organic vineyard, which has captured many awards for its fabulous red, white, sparkling and dessert wines or Mission Hill Estate Winery, the largest winery in the Okanagan Valley. The Okanagan is the centre of agri-tourism with farmers markets, fruit farms, orchard tours and the historic O’Keefe Ranch. On arrival in Princeton, the evening is at leisure.

Day 8: Princeton – Vancouver (Richmond) (B)

Today sees the final day of our coach tour of the magnificent Rockies as we make our way towards Vancouver. We visit the town of Hope and the famous Othello Tunnels – a series of old train tunnels and bridges that cut through the solid granite walls and pass over the wild Coquihalla River. They are located just east of the town of Hope, BC, in the Coquihalla Provincial Park. On arrival into Richmond – Vancouver, enjoy an evening at leisure.

Day 9: Vancouver – embark on Celebrity Eclipse Cruise  (B,D) cruise-icon

Enjoy a free morning of leisure before your private coach transfer to the cruise terminal to join your luxury award winning Celebrity Cruise of the inside passage. Upon arrival at the cruise port in Vancouver, you will check-in and begin your wonderful cruise through the natural wonders of Alaska.

Today, enjoy everything your ship has to offer as you sail between the Inside Passage. Today you will sail beyond the Inside Passage into the more protected Alaska Inside Passage. Home to diverse wildlife—orca, mountain goats, bald eagles, bears, puffins, sea otters and more—the complex labyrinth of fjords and bays are where whales and sea lions find refuge during the summer months.

Day 11: Icy Strait Point  (B,L,D) cruise-icon

For thousands of years, the Tlingit Indians have called this place home. Located near the city of Hoonah, and home to a historic cannery, Icy Strait Point also offers travellers the chance to view wildlife like humpback whales, orcas, seals, eagles, and brown bears, or to explore monuments to the region’s fishing heritage.

Day 12: Hubbard Glacier  (B,L,D) cruise-icon

Today you are in for a treat! Spectacular views of the Hubbard Glacier await. Hubbard Glacier is the largest calving glacier on the North American continent. The glacier routinely calves off icebergs as high as 10-story buildings, sending massive blocks of ice into the sea every few minutes.

Today we port in Juneau – often described as America’s most unusual state capital, as no roads lead into or out of town. The city is surrounded by nature, namely towering mountains and the waters of Gastineau Channel. A city that gracefully balances frontier ruggedness with cosmopolitan flair. Mendenhall Glacier, a river of ice measuring 1.5 miles in width and over 6 miles in length, is part of Juneau’s Icefield, 1500 square miles of ice that feeds 38 glaciers and ready for you to take a float trip on it. Many optional activities are on offer from whale watching and zip lining to touring the Capitol building or the Alaskan Brewing Co.

Day 14: Ketchikan  (B,L,D) cruise-icon

You have never tasted salmon so fresh. Known as the ‘Salmon Capital of the World’, Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit people, who have carved the world’s largest collection of totem poles. You’re bound to visit Creek Street, a row of wooden buildings perched over the water on pilings. Brightly painted boutiques once catered to gentlemen seeking the company of “sporting women.” The museum at Dolly’s House gives you a glimpse into the bawdy ways of frontier life, though Ketchikan’s red-light district wasn’t shut down until 1953. The town offers the perfect blend of activities: kayak in Misty Fjords or hike up Deer Mountain or for the less adventurous, wander in and out of the fantastic galleries and shops.

Today we sail back through the Inside Passage toward our return to Vancouver. Take in the spectacular scenery on last time while enjoying the first class facilities on board the ship.

Day 16: Vancouver – disembark cruise – airplane-takeoff– Australia (B)

This morning, disembark from your luxury cruise ship for your final day in Canada. A Webjet representative will meet you at the port to assist with your luggage transfer to Vancouver airport (one piece per person).

We then commence a half-day sightseeing tour of Vancouver – drive around Stanley Park stopping at the Totem Poles and Prospect Point, see Chinatown with a stop at Dr Sun-Yat-Sen-Park, see Gastown with a stop at the Steam Clock and finally stop at Granville Island where you can explore the Public Market and the many shops. After the tour, you will then have free time at leisure.

At the appropriate time, please make your own way to Vancouver airport for your homeward flight. Taxis, public transport and airport shuttle services are readily available from downtown Vancouver. At Vancouver Airport, pick-up of your luggage at YVR Storage located at the International Arrivals Level 2, past Tim Hortons by the washrooms.
