Day 2: Toronto (B)

Enjoy a day of leisure to recuperate after the long flight or enjoy some sightseeing at your own pace.

Toronto – Ontario’s dynamic capital with it’s glistening skyline is the heartbeat of Canadian urban life and has everything you would expect from a world class city. It’s a dynamic metropolis with a core of soaring skyscrapers, all dwarfed by the iconic CN Tower. Toronto also has many green spaces, from the orderly oval of Queen’s Park to 400-acre High Park and its trails, sports facilities and zoo. Dine at a one of a kind restaurant in Queen Street West, shop at the posh Yorkville district; lose yourself in the variety of the Kensington Market or if you’re lucky enough, catch an MLB, NBA or NHL game.

At around 7pm tonight a welcome drink and orientation meeting will be held with your tour manager. Enjoy a brief on the delightful journey that lies ahead in Eastern Canada along with meeting your fellow travellers.

Day 3: Niagara Falls – Niagara-on-the Lake – Wine Tasting (B,D)

An exciting day awaits you at spectacular Niagara Falls, one of the largest falls in the world. Get ready for a thrilling boat adventure that travels to the foot of Niagara. Feel the enormous power, get splashed by the sprays and get “up-close and personal” with one of the most incredible creations of Mother Nature. Truly, an unforgettable experience! Afterwards, on to enchanting Niagara-on-the-Lake for a lunch at leisure. Continue for wine tasting at a local winery before returning to Toronto. A welcome dinner with your fellow travellers tonight celebrates your arrival in Canada.

After, continue to experience the icons of the 1000 Islands such as Boldt Castle, the Statue of St. Lawrence, Thousand Islands International Bridge and Zavicon Islands containing the smallest International Bridge in the world, during this cruise in the heart of the 1000 Islands. After disembarkation, proceed to Ottawa, the country’s multicultural capital city. The evening is yours to explore this energetic city on your own.

Day 6: Ottawa – Quebec City (B,L)

Depart Ottawa toward quaint Quebec City, the only walled city in North America, acclaimed as the “most French” city outside of France. Stop along the way for lunch at an authentic Sugar Shack, nestled in the Quebec countryside. Here, indulge your sweet tooth with delicious maple products! Enjoy traditional Quebec cuisine (with maple syrup, of course) along with music and taffy too! Upon arrival in Quebec City, time to explore the many old world shops, arcades and cafes. Tonight, why not try one of the popular restaurants featuring delicious regional French-Canadian cuisine

Day 7: Old and New Quebec City (B)

The discovery of Old and New Quebec includes Place Royale, the picture-perfect site of the city’s original settlement, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. View the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, one of the oldest churches in North America before ascending by funicular to stately Chateau Frontenac, perched elegantly atop Cape Diamond. In the Old City, linger a while to walk the winding lanes, window shop and watch the parade of horse-drawn carriages. Spend the afternoon at leisure or join the optional tour.

Optional Tour (at own cost, refer fine print): Half Day Quebec Tour – travel to the historical borough of Île d’Orléans for lunch. Continue to a local museum to learn the history and production of copper. See a metalworking demonstration and create your own piece of art. In the evening, feel the magic of Old Quebec.

Day 8: Quebec City – Montreal (B)

From Quebec City journey to magnificent Montreal, the largest city in Quebec, a captivating blend of old and new. Montreal is set on an island in the St. Lawrence River, named after Mount Royal, the triple-peaked hill located at the heart of the city. Take some time to explore one of the avant-garde Art Galleries or explore the Port with its historic buildings, cobblestone streets, market areas, and cafes. This evening, don’t miss experiencing one of the most exciting food scenes in North America. You’ll find irresistible patisseries, English pubs, old Jewish delis, superb French food and marvellous food markets reminiscent of Paris.

Day 9: Montreal (B,D)

After breakfast, we take a city tour of Montreal. View Jacques Cartier Square and McGill University, the Basilica of Notre Dame, historical Place d’Armes and St. Joseph’s Oratory. Ascend Mount Royal, the largest hill in Montreal, to see the spectacular vistas including Olympic Park, site of the 1976 Summer Olympics. The rest of the afternoon is free to discover Montreal on your own. Walk along the narrow streets of Old Montreal with its 17th-century buildings – you’ll think you’re in Paris! Mendenhall Glacier, a river of ice measuring 1.5 miles in width and over 6 miles in length, is part of Juneau’s Icefield, 1500 square miles of ice that feeds 38 glaciers and ready for you to take a float trip on it. You’re bound to visit Creek Street, a row of wooden buildings perched over the water on pilings. Brightly painted boutiques once catered to gentlemen seeking the company of “sporting women.” The museum at Dolly’s House gives you a glimpse into the bawdy ways of frontier life, though Ketchikan’s red-light district wasn’t shut down until 1953. The town offers the perfect blend of activities: kayak in Misty Fjords or hike up Deer Mountain or for the less adventurous, wander in and out of the fantastic galleries and shops.
