Itinerary

Day 1 – Budva

Join your tour group at the hotel.

Day 2 – Budva

This morning we’ll discover Budva’s old town on a walking tour. More than 2,000 years old, this picturesque town has pretty narrow streets with plenty of history to explore. The tour includes a visit to the Archaeological Museum, home to ancient jewellery, glassware and ceramics, as well as some beautiful, locally excavated Roman mosaics. Enjoy free time to stroll at leisure around Budva. Perhaps browse the boutiques or visit one of the many cafés and restaurants. Food in Budva has a strong Mediterranean influence and there’s plenty of delicious fresh fish and seafood to try. In the afternoon, we set off for an included excursion to UNESCO-protected Kotor, where we visit the old town and the charming Cathedral of Saint Tryphon. We continue to the beachside town of Risan for spectacular views of vibrant Kotor Bay, before returning to Budva.

Day 3 – Budva

Take a day at leisure or join an optional excursion.

Day 4 – Budva

Today is free to spend as you wish. Perhaps take a relaxing stroll through the old town to enchanting Mogren beach. As you wander, you might see the elegant bronze Statua Ballerina perched on rugged rocks. Maybe stop to visit the delightful Church of Saint Ivan in the old town or the Citadela fortress with its jaw-dropping panoramic views.

Day 5 – Lake Skadar National Park – Virpazar – Kolašin

We say farewell to the Montenegrin Adriatic coast and drive via Saint Stefan and Petrovac to Lake Skadar National Park, on the border with Albania. We visit the small, charming fishing village of Virpazar, which straddles the river flowing into Lake Skadar and board a small boat to sail through breathtaking scenery and explore the fantastic flora and fauna. We then begin an unforgettable journey into the mountains as we drive via Podgorica (Montenegro’s capital) and Moraca River Canyon to Kolašin town and our base for the next three nights.

Day 6 – Kolašin

We spend the day exploring the Montenegrin Mountains and Durmitor National Park. We’ll travel via the spectacular Tara River Canyon to visit the highest town in the Balkans, Žabljak, at an altitude of 1,464 metres. We also visit Black Lake for fantastic views of the highest mountain in Montenegro – Durmitor. We return to the hotel for the evening.

Day 7 – Kolašin

We enjoy a morning excursion to Biogradska Gora National Park and Lake. A large part of the park is rainforest – one of only three remaining in Europe, with a striking lake of emerald green waters. Spend the afternoon at leisure in Kolašin, Montenegro’s main mountain resort at 960 metres above sea level.

Day 8 – Kolašin

Say goodbye to your tour group for your onward travel.
