Itinerary
- DAY 1 – ARRIVE PUERTO MALDONADO:
Upon arrival at Puerto Maldonado you’ll be met at the airport. Take a short drive before hopping in a boat to travel two hours along a jungle-fringed river to your rainforest lodge. Enjoy the spectacular views over the surrounding rainforest as you scale a canopy tower, all the while keeping an eye out for toucans, parrots and macaws. - DAY 2 – AMAZON ADVENTURE:
Take a hike and boat ride to Lake Tres Chimbadas. Embark on a catamaran trip along its shores, spotting the local otters and other animals. Return to the lodge for lunch before an ethnobotanical tour, where a local expert will teach you all about the forest plant life and medicinal properties. This evening, there is also an option to take an after-dinner twilight walk in search of nocturnal creatures. - DAY 3 – CLAY LICK:
A short hike will bring you to a ‘collpa’, a wall of clay that is frequented by parrots and macaws. Early in the morning, hundreds of colourful birds flock to this lick to eat clay, creating a wonderful natural spectacle. After lunch at the lodge, a naturalist guide will lead you on an easy hike through the forest. - DAY 4 – DEPART PUERTO MALDONADO:
Depart the rainforest lodge and return to Puerto Maldonado by boat. Transfer to the airport where your arrangements end.
