Itinerary

Day 1 – Vancouver

Arrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this scenic coastal city on your own. That could be discovering Stanley Park, taking a small ferry to Granville Island, or much more.

Day 2 – Vancouver

Enjoy the day with free time to relax or book your own activities at your leisure. Vancouver has activities for all interests, including visiting historic Gastown, dining in lively Yaletown, or enjoying a walk on the Stanley Park Seawall.

Day 3 – Vancouver to Kamloops

Travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Kamloops. See dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons, to the desert-like landscapes of the B.C. Interior. Highlights include Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes along the Thompson River.

Day 4 – Kamloops to Lake Louise

Continue eastward to the Canadian Rockies and Alberta. Experience ever-changing scenery across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels. Highlights include Craigellachie, Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and the iconic glaciers and snow-capped peaks.

Day 5 – Lake Louise

Enjoy the day with free time to relax or book your own activities at your leisure. Learn about the local wildlife, paddle the lake by canoe, or simply relax amongst the beauty.

Day 6 – Lake Louise to Banff

Free morning to explore Lake Louise. After lunch, a half-day transfer takes you into Yoho National Park to view the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake, and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. Transfer to Banff at the end of the tour.

Day 7 – Banff

Enjoy the day with free time to relax or book your own activities at your leisure. Banff has activities for all, from relaxing in the Banff hot springs, and exploring the bustling town, to outdoor wildlife adventures.

Day 8 – Banff to Calgary

Full-day transfer concluding in Calgary. Begin with a sightseeing tour of Banff including Bow Falls, Surprise Corner, and the Hoodoos. Visit the Banff Gondola with admission included.

Day 9 – Calgary

Your journey ends upon check out from your Calgary hotel.

How much luggage can I bring?

Each guest can bring two pieces of checked luggage, with a combined maximum weight of 30 kg (66 lb.). Valuables, medication and other important personal items should be kept with you onboard.

Guests are allowed two checked pieces of luggage per person. Each bag should have an identification tag with the guest’s name, return address and telephone number.

What is the maximum luggage weight?

The combined weight of the two checked bags must not exceed 30 kg (66 lb.) per person. Additional or oversized items may incur a surcharge.

How early should I arrive before boarding?

Guests should arrive at the designated Rocky Mountaineer departure point at least 30 minutes before boarding. This allows enough time to check luggage and ensure travel documents are in order.

Where do I check in for the train?

Check-in is at the designated Rocky Mountaineer departure point shown in your travel documents. Your travel documents will provide the relevant departure and check-in details.

What documents do I need to bring?

You must have your valid travel documents with you before boarding the train. Rocky Mountaineer provides travel documents electronically, generally at least 30 days before departure, provided final payment has been received.

Is Rocky Mountaineer wheelchair accessible?

Yes, Rocky Mountaineer can accommodate guests travelling with wheelchairs, but accessibility arrangements must be advised at the time of booking.

Can I travel with a mobility scooter?

Mobility scooters can be accommodated subject to specific size, weight and operational requirements. Guests should contact Rocky Mountaineer in advance to confirm that their particular scooter can be accommodated.

Can I bring a wheelchair onboard?
