Itinerary
Day 1 – Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this scenic coastal city on your own. Vancouver has activities for all interests, including visiting historic Gastown, dining in lively Yaletown, or enjoying a walk on the Stanley Park Seawall.
Day 2 – Vancouver to Kamloops
Travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Kamloops. See dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons to the desert-like landscapes of the B.C. Interior. Highlights include Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the Thompson River.
Day 3 – Kamloops to Jasper
Journey continues north and east to the Canadian Rockies. Follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Highlights include Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls and the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park.
Day 4 – Jasper
Morning free to explore Jasper. In the afternoon, experience a half-day sightseeing tour of Jasper National Park, exploring stunning landscapes, looking for wildlife, and visiting iconic landmarks including the Jasper SkyTram.
Day 5 – Jasper to Lake Louise
Travel from Jasper to Lake Louise via the Icefields Parkway. Highlights include Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield, Glacier Skywalk, and Athabasca Falls. Ride an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier. Lunch provided at the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre.
Day 6 – Lake Louise to Banff
Morning free to explore beautiful Lake Louise. Around mid-day, a transfer takes you directly to Banff where the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Day 7 – Banff to Kamloops
Travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Kamloops. Journey through the iconic glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies over mountain passes and through tunnels. Highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass, and Craigellachie.
Day 8 – Kamloops to Vancouver
Journey continues west towards Vancouver. See dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the B.C. Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the Thompson River and Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon.
Day 9 – Vancouver
Your journey ends upon check out from your Vancouver hotel.
