FAQs
Carnival Luminosa® is new to the Carnival fleet… and we’d say this ship is all set to make a first impression.
Guests setting sail on Carnival Luminosa can expect hospitality and fun that’s pure, unmistakable Carnival, with so many fan-favorite onboard features like the flavors of Alchemy Bar®, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse™ and RedFrog® Rum Bar; the entertainment of Playlist Productions™, Piano Bar 88 and The Punchliner™ Comedy Club; plus the relaxation of Cloud 9 Spa™ and Serenity™. And when you’re indoors, you can still expect great views and lots of natural light — the ship was built with plenty of windows.
So when you choose to sail on Carnival Luminosa, can we just say… great choice! There’s just one more decision to make: is Australia or Alaska more your cruising style? We ask because this world-traveling ship will kick things off sailings from Australia in the summer months with plenty of itinerary options… before heading to Seattle for a summer of Alaska cruises. And when the ship’s heading from one region to the other, we take the opportunity to sail unique Transpacific itineraries that stop in spots like Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, Japan and more. So, what we’re saying is… with scenery like this, you’re gonna put those windows to good use!

Keep it casual
When the sun’s out you can keep it casual. After 5.30pm smart casual clothing is required in the public lounges and restaurants or as published in the ship’s newsletter, Good Times. Decks can be slippery so low-heeled, rubber soled shoes are recommended along with comfortable walking shoes for going ashore. Shoes must be worn at all times in restaurants. Swimwear is only permitted around the pool and open deck areas. There are two dress codes for the restaurants; smart casual and cocktail.
Dress for dinner
Dress up and have fun! Every evening onboard should be a special occasion whether you’re grabbing a quick drink or having a leisurely dinner. If it’s after 5:30pm, smart casual clothing is required in the public lounges and restaurants. That means skirts, dresses, pants and blouses for women. For men it’s long trousers and a polo or collared shirt.
The drinks are delicious and the vibe is fancy so you better frock up for the cocktail evenings! Women are required to wear evening or cocktail dress. Men are required to suit up or wear similar and ties are optional. These evenings will be announced in the ships newsletter, the Good Times. So you have an idea of how many fabulous outfits to pack, we’ve provided a rough guide. For cruises between 3-7 nights there will be 1-2 cocktail evenings. For cruises between 7-13 nights there will be 2 cocktail evenings and for cruises 14 days or more there will be a minimum of 3 cocktail evenings. Please note that if the cruise is less than 2 nights there will not be any cocktail nights.
